The Michelin star is an indication for restaurants with excellent cuisine and a proper service in the famous Red Guide of the tire manufacturer Michelin. A limited number of restaurants in each guide is indicated by one, two or three stars.

Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester was awarded the top honour.
In total there are 140 restaurants to be recognised by Michelin with a

the highest number Britain has ever won.
