The Redbankhouse & Restaurant is owned and run by one of Ireland’s best-knower Chef’s, Terry Mc Coy. Terry is a familiar figure on the Irish foodie scene, not just because he is a striking figure who sports a ponytail and a beard but because he wins awards all around him for his handling of very fine seafood caught off the Fingal coast.

Whilst the Redbank Restaurant has been a destination Restaurant for the past 25 years it is only is in the recent past that Terry has added 18 by way of the Old Bank House beside the Restaurant. The rooms are comfortably furnished with all mod cons and comforts in cool nautical colours. blues yellows and creams, but with a warmth of feeling. All have T.V. and Internet access.

This is a house too for the Gourmet Golfer, for there are 40 golf courses within “a driver and a sand wedge” of Skerries and what is better than a quick one at the 19th than to come back and enjoy Terry’s hospitality and fabulous treatment of our wonderful Dublin Bay Prawns and other seafood. Try the Razor fish, caught locally, which are mainly exported to Japan, and also ask to see the wine cellar in the old Bank vault.

The Redbank’s long Sunday Lunch’s are legendary. St Patrick who drove the snakes from Ireland lived on Church Island off Skerries and fed himself on goat’s milk and cheese so you see chevre was popular in Skerries before anywhere else in Ireland. Skerries are only 18 miles from Dublin, easily commutable by train, and only 20 minutes drive from Dublin Airport. Walk the beaches; feel the breeze in you hair and sand between you toes, chill out, it’s the place.
