La Maison...the house quickly becoming home to Dublin’s Foodies!

La Maison is the latest venture of Breton chef Olivier Quenet. Olivier also owns Olivier’s Eatery in Terenure. In April 2009 he transformed his French cafe and boulangerie, La Maison des Gourmets, into a simple yet chic restaurant where he aims to continue his dedication to Irish people eating affordable freshly prepared produce.

The menu is a well thought out selection of French dishes; huitre (fresh oysters), plateau de pates du jour, poele de la mer, andouillette sausage and cote de boeuf to name but a few of the wonderful choices on offer. As stated on the menu all dishes are prepared fresh and cooked to order by Chef Cathal Dunne. Olivier and Cathals passion for freshly prepared food was first encountered whilst working together at The Commons Restaurant. Cathal has since worked with Michelin star awarded Chef Michel Portos at “Le Saint James” Bordeaux and Chef Gordon Ramsey.

Upon arrival diners will be welcomed by the Maitre d'hotel, Shane Kilbane, the Maitre d’hotel, formerly of The Clarendon and Residence Members Club. His high expectations ensure that the service is impeccable with sparkling glassware, starched linen napkins yet all the while remaining relaxed and friendly.

The authenticity of La Maison begins with the artwork, works by Leonetto Cappiello, L’oir Dor, and Diable Vent, all sourced from the Paris at Puces market. Doisneau photographs line the stairs offering a touch of romance to this relaxed space. On second level the dining room is light and airy, with sash windows looking out onto the bustling Castle Market Street.
